Acetal (POM-C)
Acetal (POM-C) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic known for its excellent dimensional stability, low friction, and high mechanical strength. It offers superior toughness and is easier to machine compared to many other plastics. Ideal for precision components requiring tight tolerances, Acetal outperforms materials like Nylon due to its extremely low moisture absorption making it a reliable choice for submerged or high-humidity environments. Its mechanical properties remain stable even in harsh or wet conditions. Additionally, Acetal's strong chemical resistance makes it well-suited for use in corrosive environments. We specialize in machining Acetal components with high efficiency and precision.
Nylon (Polyamide)
Nylon (Polyamide) is available in two primary forms: cast and extruded. Cast nylon offers a higher molecular weight and greater crystallinity compared to extruded types, resulting in enhanced strength and performance.
Nylon is widely recognized for its excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, smooth sliding capabilities, and superior machinability. However, unlike polyethylene, nylon absorbs moisture and may expand, making it less suitable for wet or submerged environments.
Different grades of nylon are engineered to meet specific application needs, including self-lubrication, wax-filling, UV resistance, and more. At B Plastics’ Sydney workshop, we specialize in precision machining of nylon components with tight tolerances.
Available Nylon Grades:
Natural, Moly (MoS2), Blue, Green, and Impact-Resistant variants.
PEEK (Polyetheretherketone)
PEEK (Polyetheretherketone) is a high-performance, semi-crystalline thermoplastic known for its exceptional resistance to chemicals environment, low moisture absorption, and excellent fire performance. This material maintains superior mechanical strength across a wide temperature range and offers excellent dimensional stability.
Tough, strong, and rigid, PEEK is ideal for applications where thermal, chemical, and combustion properties are critical. It exhibits superior creep resistance and retains its stiffness and strength in extreme high-pressure and high-temperature (HPHT) environments. PEEK is commonly used in electrical connectors, where it minimizes thermal expansion, provides chemical resistance, and supports effective sealing.
We also offer precise machining of PEEK components with minimal tolerances for your specific requirements.
Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate sheets are high-performance thermoplastics characterized by superior impact resistance and excellent optical clarity. Offering up to 250 times the strength of glass at a fraction of the weight, they are engineered for demanding safety, security, and glazing applications. UV stabilization and weather resistance enable reliable performance in both interior and exterior environments, even under extreme temperature fluctuations. Their adaptability makes them suitable for use in construction projects, protective barriers, machine enclosures, roofing systems, and greenhouse structures. Furthermore, polycarbonate sheets support precise fabrication, cutting, and thermoforming, providing engineers and fabricators with broad design flexibility.
Our UV-resistant polycarbonate sheets offer outstanding optical clarity with up to 89% light transmittance and feature a 50 µm UV protection layer on both sides. This advanced coating ensures long-lasting performance in outdoor settings by preventing yellowing and degradation.
We delivers expertly machined polycarbonate components with tight tolerances and fast turnaround times, fabricate polycarbonate guards for machine safety.
Teflon (PTFE)
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known as Teflon, is renowned for its exceptional chemical resistance due to its unique carbon-fluorine bond structure. PTFE boasts a low coefficient of friction and minimal wear, making it an excellent choice for sliding applications. It maintains performance even in harsh UV and high-temperature environments, withstanding temperatures up to 260°C. Additionally, PTFE offers outstanding electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for high-voltage applications.PTFE does not absorb bacteria or liquids, making it ideal for food and beverage industry applications.
We efficiently machine PTFE components to minimal tolerances, ensuring precision and high-quality results.
